Just got over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (which was RAD)! See you soon, #Boston! #hippikid #hippilongstockings #livetogive #giftofgoodtour (at Eastern Shore of Virginia)
These are the Freeman’s. You wish you knew them, I promise. Three weeks ago we did not know them. The day after Nova was burned their son Eric, who I had never met, walked through the doors of our room in ICU with bags of stuff for me. When he walked in I was crying. He put the bags down and just hugged me while I cried. Inside the bags were snacks, water, clothes, underwear……I was in my bathing suit when this happened. He told me his parents wanted our family to be together and that they would be by later to visit. They did, and thy gave me directions to their house and insisted Ryan and the girls make the trip out here and stay with them, no matter how long. They loved us all and treated my kids better than most grandparents treat their grandchildren. Through a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend, these strangers became family.
We are leaving Augusta and heading to Myrtle Beach, back to the place where this accident happened. I was there for about 15 minutes before we were whisked away in an ambulance. We had just bought two weeks of groceries. Not excited about the rotting food smells we are about to come home to and my stomach hurts thinking about the last time I was here..BUT, do you see Novas custom made Olaf foot cover made by our friend Sophia! She also made one for her bear but she insisted that one was for her small foot!

I will not miss this hallway. Especially since our last night here was filled with a woman yelling at me and Nova all night long so neither of us slept. I held it together this entire time until she said she didn’t care if my baby slept and turned all the lights on and the tv at 4am after I entertained her son with crafts for hours. You should never have to have a roommate in a hospital. I cried in the hallway most of the night, mainly because I couldn’t believe how cruel she was to us and her son. BUT, she was just a speck of sadness in an overall great experience! We head up to Boston tomorrow and are positive Nova will get the same great care at the Shriners Burn Hospital there. See ya later JMS Burn Center. I hope I never see you again but we couldn’t be more thankful that this happened four hours away for one of the best burn hospitals in the nation.

Just came out of surgery! this morning was the hardest morning we have had since this happened. So grateful it’s over! A small piece of her skin graft sheared off of the ball of her foot but they fixed it and we should be released tomorrow to continue treatment at the Shriners burn hospital in Boston! 13 days, 4 surgeries, ready for a break!

Nova and Yasmin became buddies.:) She was so excited to have our older girls to hang out with. This day was really special, Yasmine was so excited for the girls to see what she looked like, she got her facial bandages off and got to go home! Her and Nova got their burns the same night. #JMSburncenter
Here are two reasons this picture is awesome: 1) My kids are getting their mind off of what is going on and being creative at a ceramic cafe in Evans. 2) Both Amy and I are with Nova, because this wonderful woman from the
#Augusta #babywearing group has offered to hang out with them so we can spend some time together. Always such awesome people in this community! So incredibly in awe at the generosity we have been shown, and so grateful to all of these people. #wearallthebabies #hippikid #hippilongstockings #livetogive #giftofgoodtour (at Artsy Me)
